Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory and Rehabilitation Services this position manages, and coordinates the operational activities of Respiratory Care Services, which include Respiratory Care, Neurophysiology, Pulmonary Function and EKG. Ensures quality patient care and compliance of technical staff to standards established within the department. Responsible for the department's quality of service, resource management, labor relations, budgetary and financial management, program development and continuing education and in-service training programs. Available for department issues 24/7.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education or equivalency:
- Prefer Bachelor or Masters Degree.
Experience:
- Must have at least five (5) years of clinical cardiopulmonary/respiratory experience with at least two (2) years of progressively responsible supervisor/management experience with advanced clinical cardiopulmonary/respiratory experience in Arizona Burn Center, Emergency/Trauma, Adult ICU and NICU/PICU.

Certification/licensure:
- A current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure is required. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English both verbally and through written documentation.
- Bi-lingual is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
- Computer knowledge with Windows-based systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of operational reports and budgets is preferred.
- Requires extensive knowledge in anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary system.
- Must have demonstrated competency in all aspects of respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostics, as well as the ability to direct, plan, schedule and organize work, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space and facilities.
- Must be able to communicate and relate with patients, physicians, all hospital staff and the public; and must be able to work independently on established policies and procedures within the department.
Salary Range: Hourly pay rate: (39B) $38.42 - $56.67
